The Strong Women, Strong Girls team ensures that girls and women in South Florida develop skills, relationships, and role models to ensure future success.
Rhea Beck
Executive Director
Rhea Beck joined Strong Women, Strong Girls in 2011 as the South Florida Executive Director. Rhea is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of Strong Women, Strong Girls in South Florida. She generates financial and community support for the local office. Rhea has worked in the non-profit community for over a decade. Prior to joining Strong Women, Strong Girls, she served as the Director of Listen Up! Youth Media Network, a program aimed at engaging young people in underserved communities through media making . While there, Rhea grew the organization’s membership network from 10 locations across the country to 120 organizations globally. Rhea acted as a senior producer to youth made documentary series, aired primarily on PBS. She also served as a producer of The Beyond Borders documentary series for the Independent Film Channel which earned her the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting in 2007. A graduate of the storied Hunter College, Rhea has also served on a number of Boards, among them the Manhattan Neighborhood Network, the country’s largest public access station and currently on the Board of Dress for Success Miami, where she currently fills the role of Secretary/Treasurer. She is also the proud parent of a very vivacious young daughter, Tennessee Beck.

Adele Coble
Program Manager
Adele Coble joined Strong Women, Strong Girls in 2011 as the South Florida Program Manager. Adele works closely with Strong Women, Strong Girls partners to implement excellent programming, provide appropriate trainings, cultivate community partnerships and provide ongoing support to mentors and chapter leaders. Prior to joining Strong Women, Strong Girls, Adele served as the Deputy Campaign Manager for People Over Politics. She has also managed communication and college campus programs for the Missouri Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice in St. Louis. Adele moved to Miami in 2008 and has worked and volunteered in nonprofits that help women and girls to be successful. Adele holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration, focusing on Management and French, from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Adele also holds a Masters of Arts degree in Nonprofit Business Management from Washington University in St. Louis.

Autumn E. Romer
AmeriCorps Health and Wellness Fellow
Autumn joined Strong Women, Strong Girls at the start of 2012 as the South Florida Health and Wellness AmeriCorps fellow. She is responsible for integrating healthy living, whole-being wellness, and the Get Active! Initiative into many facets of the Strong Women, Strong Girls universe, including the Jump into Spring event and mentoring curriculum in South Florida. Prior to joining Strong Women, Strong Girls, Autumn completed her first year of national community service through the AmeriCorps program Public Allies, where she was recognized for both her workshop and service project leadership. Autumn graduated cum laude and with departmental honors from Webster University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in literature, society, and politics and minors in both Women’s Studies and Spanish.

Melody L. Young
AmeriCorps Leadership and Development Fellow
Melody Young joined Strong Women, Strong Girls in the Fall of 2011 as the South Florida Leadership & Development AmeriCorps Fellow. Melody is responsible for supporting the leadership & development of college mentors and professional volunteers in Miami-Dade County. Melody attended the Pennsylvania State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in May 2009. As a “Penn Stater”, she was actively involved in a number of on-campus activities, including being president of a minority student organization geared towards uplifting minority students in the College of Agriculture, being a resident’s assistant to incoming freshmen girls helping them adjust to college life, and being actively involved in Penn State’s Greek life. In her professional career, Melody worked for a non-profit organization that offered environmental awareness workshops to disadvantaged and multicultural DC residents, and for Virginia Tech as a 4-H Youth Development Educator, shaping the minds of young people through hands-on learning. As a native New Yorker, Melody knows the importance of hard work and is looking forward to doing exactly that with this Leadership & Development AmeriCorps position with Strong Women Strong Girls.
