Volunteers are critical to furthering the mission of Strong Women, Strong Girls.
Site Monitors are critical to supporting SWSG mentors in implementing quality programming. SWSG commits to visiting each programming site at least three times per year to provide mentors with feedback and guidance. Site Monitors are required to have a professional background in youth development, education, or social work.
Event Volunteers make SWSG celebrations and other events possible. Many event volunteers commit to serving on an event planning committee, helping throughout the year to plan SWSG’s annual events, such as the Strong Awards. Many other volunteers also serve on the day of these and other large-scale events.
Professional women (“Strong Leaders”) are adult volunteers who support SWSG college mentors. Through SWSG Pittsburgh’s Strong Leaders Program, professional mentors are paired with SWSG college mentors. They meet monthly with their matches to support them as campus leaders, mentors to girls, and pre-professionals. Through SWSG Boston’s Strong Leaders Network, professional women support college mentors and SWSG as an organization through networking, mentoring, and capacity building.
