In my one and a half years with SWSG, I’ve been truly lucky to be supervised by our National Director of Program Operations, Meghan Trombly. Last night, I had the chance to attend the Comcast Leadership Awards and cheer wildly as Meghan was recognized for her unwavering commitment to civic engagement and youth development.
The Comcast Leadership Awards are awarded each year at City Year‘s Summer Academy to corps alumni who continue their commitment to social change and exemplify the City Year values. This year, Meghan was one of five recipients of the award selected from over 15,000 alumni. The award was presented in front of nearly 1,000 members of the City Year staff and Senior Corps, and the family and friends of the awardees. She received a $1,000 leadership grant in recognition of her dedication to excellence.
The ceremony featured speeches by Michael Brown, CEO and Co-Founder of City Year; Steve Woodsum, City Year’s Board Chair and Founding Managing Director of Summit Partners; and David Cohen, Executive Vice President of Comcast. Each of the awardees were presented by someone special in his or her life; Meghan chose Lindsay to deliver an eloquent and celebratory speech.
The work that Meghan does every day is remarkable. Her passion for making Strong Women, Strong Girls the best that it can be is contagious. I am so fortunate to work with her, and am thrilled to see her recognized with such a prestigious honor. Congratulations, Meghan!
