Charlie Batch, a Pittsburgh Advisory Council member, has been named a finalist for the NFL Players Association’s Byron “Whizzer” White Award.
The “Whizzer” Award is annually given to NFL players “who go above and beyond to perform community service in their team cities and hometowns.”
Charlie Batch is a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and founder of the Best of the Batch Foundation, whose mission is to provide financially challenged youth and their families with the purpose, desire, and resources to give their best efforts in all they do throughout their lives.
As a finalist, Batch will be given a donation from the NFL Players Association for the Best of the Batch Foundation. The winner of the Bryon “Whizzer” White Award will be given an extra $100,000 to his charity.
