Who loves to exercise? SWSG staff does, that’s who! It is an exciting time of year at Strong Women, Strong Girls, and prioritizing exercise for staff members is a great way to manage all of the excitement and energy that comes with this time of year. As we gear up for spring semester programming, in which the entire SWSG Boston community will focus on Get Active & Healthy Lifestyle Service Projects, there has not been a better time to do an internal check-in about The Power of Exercise. I did a quick poll, and here are some of the (many) ways SWSG staff likes to exercise: biking, playing soccer, (hot) yoga, kickboxing, waterskiing, and running.
Recently, I have been reading up on American exercising habits. One study revealed only about half of Americans exercise regularly (at least three 30-minute sessions per week), while another study shared that only 16% of Americans exercise. It is difficult to know which studies to believe, and it is important to be critical about such findings. Something we can be certain about, however, is that after polling the SWSG staff, 90% of staffers exercise at least 3 times per week.

Former intern Susan Golbe shares the power of exercise below:

I leave you with the question: Why do you exercise, and how does it impact your life?
