Strong Women, Strong Girls can’t wait to kick off Women’s History Month this March. While SWSG celebrates women daily, we’re excited to share even more stories of influential, awesome women. We will write weekly blog posts about some of the Strong Women our girls study and Facebook posts that highlight accomplished women in our three locations: Boston, Pittsburgh, and South Florida.
Look forward to SWSG blog posts celebrating:

  • Audre Lorde
  • Ashima Shiraishi
  • Haviva Kohl, SWSG President
  • International Women’s Day (this year March 8)
  • Fabiola  Gianotti
  • Wilma Rudolph
  • Ayya Khema
  • Nilda Peragallo

In the US,  we have been celebrating Women’s History since 1981 when Congress requested the President to proclaim the week beginning March 7, 1982 as “Women’s History Week.” In 1987, Congress passed  Pub. L. 100-9 which declared March 1987 “Women’s History Month.” That’s over thirty years of celebrating Women nationally!
