Join us in welcoming the newest member of our team, Fakisha Fabre. Fakisha joins us as our Highland Street AmeriCorps Ambassador of Mentoring serving as our Program Assistant. She recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Boston with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Political Science. In her time at UMass she spent her free time working on political campaigns, working as a student mentor and ambassador, serving in student government and volunteering with Jumpstart and of course, SWSG. Fakisha spent a semester abroad, studying literature at Oxford University and when she returned she rejoined SWSG her senior year. Fakisha cites Strong Women, Strong Girls as one of her most rewarding experiences of her undergraduate career. Her time with her girls is what inspired her to come join our team. Her experiences volunteering in the Greater Boston Area with youth has become a driving force behind all of her aspirations, professionally and academically. Now that she has completed her Bachelor’s Degree she is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, hoping to continue her work in the public sector to create meaningful change in the neighborhoods that she previously served.
Fakisha joins us to support our program planning and implementation.
