Alicia Angemeer joined Strong Women Strong Girls (SWSG) as Program Manager in December 2018. Prior to this, she worked in Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Engineering, where she managed K-12 outreach programming and worked with researchers to develop their broader impacts strategies, which would include approaches to working with K-12 students and underserved populations in STEM. Dr. Angemeer earned a doctorate from the Social and Comparative Analysis of Education program at the University of Pittsburgh. She has taught English at the middle and high school levels at Shady Side Academy and worked in the Education Department at the Frick Art and Historical Center. Dr. Angemeer has a Master of Science in Secondary English Education, as well as master’s and bachelor’s degrees in English from Duquesne University. In her spare time, she volunteers as a Reading Buddy at her local Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
