Rossye Alvarez joined the Strong Women, Strong Girls team as Development Assistant in July 2017 and now serves as our Program Assistant. Rossye started with SWSG as a girl participant in the program, later becoming a college mentor in 2015. She then went on to be Chapter Director for the UMASS Boston chapter of SWSG. Rossye is passionate about female empowerment and fighting racial injustice, which led her to spend time in Guatemala and Mexico respectively in order to understand the true nature of cultural biases. Rossye recently graduated from Umass Boston with a major in Anthropology focusing on Afro-Caribbean Religion and Racial Identity with a minor in Biology.
