A Message from Siiri Morley: Thank you for the opportunity to serve SWSG Boston

Posted by Marikate Taylor Oct 10, 2018

Dear Friends,

After four wonderful and exciting years with Strong Women, Strong Girls, I am stepping down from my role as Executive Director in Boston this October. As we kick off our 18th year of mentoring in Boston, I know that our amazing SWSG Boston team (Tricia, Alexandria, Marikate, Rossye, Minh, and Renata) are well positioned to lead this work. This year, SWSG is poised to provide programming to over 600 girls, engage a new generation of professional women as Strong Leaders, and host community events like never before! With additional momentum thanks to our successful Robert Kraft matching challenge last year, this will surely be our strongest year yet.

It has been an absolute privilege to serve Strong Women, Strong Girls. I was drawn to SWSG because of the program’s power to affect change for women and girls in a very tangible way. At a time when the world sometimes seems increasingly stacked against women and girls, especially women and girls of color, this programming is crucial. I am incredibly proud of all that we have accomplished together.

I’m excited to share that I will continue to advance opportunities for women and girls in Massachusetts as the Director of Partnerships at Upstream. Upstream is a non-profit working to expand opportunity by reducing unplanned pregnancy, improving outcomes for parents, children and society.

Elaine Stokes and Kathryn Fishman, SWSG’s Boston Board Chair and Vice Chair, will serve as the interim point of contact for the organization. You can reach them at [email protected]. To read more about the next steps at SWSG, click here.  We are working with the recruiting firm Positively Partners to build a robust and diverse candidate pool. Feel free to introduce referrals directly to Positively Partners or encourage interested individuals to reach out to the team by emailing[email protected]. Their team would be happy to engage with anyone who is interesting as we work to launch the position more broadly in the weeks ahead.

I have personally grown and learned a tremendous amount in this role. I want to thank you all for that opportunity. Please join me as we celebrate our four years together on October 4th from 5:30 -7:30 pm at Natixis Investment Managers. Our founder, Lindsay Hyde, will be joining us for the event!

We count on and treasure your continued support of SWSG’s mission. I look forward to connecting again with you soon!

In Strength,

Siiri Morley
