Strong Women, Strong Girls had the pleasure of participating in the 42nd Annual Historic Steel Valley Christmas Parade on December 4th. Strong Women, Strong Girls, along side fire trucks, EMS trucks, floats, costume characters, Santa and elves, marched to celebrate the holidays.
Over 30 girls, mentors and supporters joined the SWSG staff to walk the one mile route while tossing candy and shouting the SWSG Cheer, “We are strong! We are proud! We’re not afraid to shout it out loud! Strong Women, Strong Girls! Strong Women, Strong Girls! Strong Women, Strong Girls! Strong Women, Strong Girls!” After each cheer, the crowd clapped and shouted in support.
Following the parade, and in typical Strong Women, Strong Girls fashion, we hosted a table complete with food and beverages to congratulate our marchers and spread awareness about our program. Strong Women, Strong Girls provides program at two locations in Homestead serving over 20 girls. SWSG is proud to participate in community events such as the parade as it’s a great way to connect with our families and girls.
