Kaiona McGowan

Kaiona McGowan joined Strong Women, Strong Girls in April 2022 as the program manager. Prior to this, she worked in the Department of Human Service Youth Support Partner Unit (2014-2022), where she mentored young individuals with lived experiences similar to Kaiona’s very own. 

Kaiona’s experience includes youth advocacy, 1 on 1 mentoring and using both her personal and professional experience to train professionals on how to engage with youth in the Child Welfare system. Kaiona graduated from Community College of Allegheny County with a degree in Psychology in 2017 and is currently a licensed Real Estate Agent. 

Lastly, Kaiona is also a mom of 4 girls which is very passionate about and believes strongly in mentorship and that every young girl should have the opportunity to experience having a mentor as it has been a huge reason for the continuous work Kaiona has put in over the years.
