Strong Women, Strong Girls (SWSG) is proud to join in the national movement to celebrate National Mentoring Month this January. In recognition of this special month, here are some simple ways that you can help us celebrate:
- Social Media: Are you a mentor yourself, or have you benefited from a mentor in your life? Share an anecdote or photo related to this person, and use the hashtags #SomeoneWhoMatters and#MentoringWorks. Don’t forget to tag SWSG on Facebook and tweet at SWSG_tweets!
- Honor Someone Who Matters with a Donation: That same mentor or mentee who you recognized on your Facebook page? You can help build a sustainable future for mentoring of girls in Greater Boston by making a donation to SWSG in honor of that special person.
- Build your Knowledge: MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership recently released The Mentoring Effect, a compelling report informed by a survey of young people on the topic national of informal and formal mentoring. In Boston, Bank of America, Mass Mentoring Partnership, and the UMASS Donahue Institute will release the results of the biennial Mass Mentoring Counts survey on January 27. Get informed, then share what you learned about the power of mentoring with your colleagues, family, and friends.
