Here at Strong Women, Strong Girls, we are committed to fostering a healthy and safe environment for all of our community members. With the recent increased attention to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the media, we feel it is important to communicate proactively.
We are closely monitoring official recommendations and are actively communicating with our college mentors and program site facilitators to ensure the health and safety for all of our constituents in both Boston and Pittsburgh locations.
In both Pittsburgh and Boston, our university partners have made the decision to cancel classes and/or close for the remainder of the semester. In light of our mentors leaving campuses to travel home, all SWSG programming will be cancelled effective Monday, March 16.
In Boston, The Women’s Leadership Breakfast (originally March 24th) has been rescheduled for October 16, and the Natixis Lunch & Learn (originally March 27th) is also postponed. Jump into Spring (April 3) and our mentor Strong Awards (April 7) have been cancelled.
In Pittsburgh, three events have been cancelled, including Group Mentoring (March 15), Jump into Spring (April 4) and Mentor Recognition (April 15). The Strong Awards Breakfast on August 7 is scheduled to occur virtually.
We will continue to follow recommendations made by the public school systems, university partners, and local health officials in both Boston and Pittsburgh. We will update community members with any future changes to all programming through e-mail notifications. Please stay tuned for more information and reach out to your local office if you have questions or concerns.
