We know that strong girls need strong women role models to help make our community a place where everyone can thrive. That’s why we are thrilled to announce that Boston City Councilor-at-Large Ayanna Pressley supports Strong Women, Strong Girls (SWSG) as a Special Advisor.
Councilor Pressley noted:
“I have been involved with Strong Women, Strong Girls for many years as an advocate and supporter. I’m delighted to now become a Special Advisor for this amazing organization.I believe deeply in their work and hope that you will join me in supporting the growth of Strong Women, Strong Girls in the future. Together we are offering preadolescent girls in this city, no matter what her background, a brighter future. We are, in fact, investing in the future leadership of our city.”
Many members of the SWSG family know Councilor Pressley as a consistent presence over the years, rallying our community with moving keynote addresses at Jump into Spring events. An advocate for girls, women, and families experiencing poverty and violence, she was recently named one of Boston’s 50 most powerful people by Boston Magazine (at left), and honored with the 2015 Gabrielle Giffords Rising Star Awards by EMILY’s List.
With Councilor Pressley’s backing, the voice of SWSG and our girls will grow louder. We envision a Boston where SWSG is at the forefront of female-lead change. We want you to be part of our movement. Want to join Councilor Pressley by bringing innovative, high-quality programming to pre-adolescent girls in Greater Boston’s under-resourced communities? We need your support to continue to invest in our programming and create more impact in Boston. Please donate to invest in the future leadership of our city.
Join us in strengthening this transformative work!
In strength,
Siiri Morley
