Have you ever wanted to meet the women and girls from the SWSG curriculum? How about Get Active with professional instructors? Have you spent your whole life hoping to meet members of the Pittsburgh Steelers?
At Strong Women, Strong Girls, we are so excited to introduce our special guests at this year’s Jump into Spring events in Boston, Pittsburgh, and South Florida. Through music, dance, special guest performances, and jumping rope, Jump into Spring encourages a healthy, active lifestyle while joyously celebrating all that SWSG girls have accomplished throughout the program year.
Boston is thrilled to announce that Ayanna Pressley, Annual Snowfall, The Genki Spark performance troupe, Boston College’s F.I.S.T.S. (Females Incorporation Sisterhood Through Step), Grlz Radio, Go Ahead Tours, DJ Nora, Melissa Charles, and Cradle to Crayons will be joining us for this year’s Jump into Spring. Ayanna Pressley and Annual Snowfall are featured in this year’s curriculum to model goal setting and cultural sensitivity respectively. Ayanna Pressley worked hard and overcame obstacles to become the first African American woman on the Boston City Council, while Annual Snowfall is an all-girl rock band from East Boston comprised of talented girls from different ethnic backgrounds.
Pittsburgh can’t wait to celebrate at Jump into Spring with Candi Castleberry-Singleton, Annie Clark, members of the Steelers team, and members of the PGH Passion women’s football team. Candi Castleberry-Singleton, our emcee, is Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer at UPMC, a $10 billion global health system and heath plan, while another one of our special guests, Annie Clark, is featured in this year’s SWSG curriculum. Annie is a wonderful example of determination and perseverance. She learned how to write, paint, and eat despite being born without hands!
South Florida plans to Jump into Spring with Jay Jiggins from IronFlower Fitness, the Yoga Gangsters, and the Bass Museum of Art.
Jay Jiggins, owner of Miami’s first ladies-only combined fitness studio, dance studio, social club, and spa, is excited to have created a place where fun and fitness meet to encourage women to be the best that they can be. She is also a member of the Women’s Business Council of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Yoga Gangsters, also passionate about healing through fitness, empowers youth by addressing the symptoms of trauma and poverty such as limited education, addiction, violence, teen pregnancy, HIV, and more through the science and practice of yoga.
Bass Museum of Art is generously donating supplies and extra artistic hands to help SWSG in South Florida create their first-ever art installation during Jump into Spring. Girls will be the main artists as Bass Museum of Art works to create a Jump into Spring collage that will demonstrate the vibrancy of our SWSG community.
Lastly, SWSG’s new President, Haviva Kohl, will be making her first strong appearance in South Florida during Jump into Spring with an inspirational welcoming address. This is one event you don’t want to miss!
We are so grateful to have such amazing special guests at each of our Jump into Spring events.
Who are YOU excited to see?
