Why Invest in Girls and Women?
We all understand that girls and women are up against tremendous obstacles to their personal and professional success. However, funding for programs that elevate girls and break down barriers often falls short.
For example, less than 5 cents of every foundation dollar goes to programs for girls and women. Within that funding, nearly 40% is sent overseas–twice the rate at which other international giving is directed. Beyond that, less than 2% of multi-figure gifts, which have an immense impact, support women’s causes. But we can change this!
Simply put, community giving is critical to making sure programs for women and girls continue into the future.

On average women reinvest 90% of their income back into their families and communities. By donating to Strong Women, Strong Girls, you will be part of a community working to help girls and women to realize their inner strengths, explore their passions, and develop the skills needed to become leaders. Become a Corporate/Business Sponsor
Become an official sponsor of SWSG Pittsburgh. Business and corporate sponsorships allow you to connect with our diverse female community and create a mutually beneficial partnership. Our varying levels of support and event sponsorship opportunities provide chances for your employees and executives to make connections with our college women mentors, soon seeking employment, and with our elementary girls and families.
Make a Workplace Donation
If your organization has a corporate matching program, talk to your employer about matching your donations to SWSG. You can also support through United Way paycheck contributions – simply indicate SWSG as the destination for your contributions with the code #9187279.

Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) for Corporations
This Pennsylvania state program entitles companies to make a donation to approved educational improvement entities and receive tax credits under Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).
Educational Improvement Tax Credit funds enable Strong Women, Strong Girls to partner with school districts and community groups to offer girls the chance to enhance their academic experience, improve scholastic performance, and build leadership skills.
Host a Fundraiser
It’s never been easier to host a fundraiser in your community to raise awareness and support for SWSG! Past supporters have hosted bake sales, organized dress-down days in their offices, coordinated restaurant donations and more.
