SWSG is pleased to announce that the Pittsburgh Strong Awards will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild. Purchase tickets to the Strong Awards and see detailed event information.
Each year at the Strong Awards, every SWSG city recognizes an outstanding community member with the Spark Award. The Spark Award recipient is an individual who embodies the values of Strong Women, Strong Girls – from supporting diverse female communities to performing service with SPARKS. This year, SWSG Pittsburgh is proud to announce Dr. Linda Clautti, CEO of Urban Pathways Charter School, as the second annual Spark Award recipient.
After receiving many compelling nominations for many outstanding candidates, the Spark Award selection committee was faced with a very difficult decision. Ultimately, Dr. Clautti was selected for her innovative leadership in supporting female high school students of all backgrounds. Specifically, she created the WISE (Women in Sync Everywhere) mentoring program, which connects female Urban Pathways students with female community leaders in one-on-one relationships that continue through the early college years. This programming has achieved incredible results: 100% of Urban Pathways female graduates have been accepted to colleges and universities! Linda is indeed inspiring, and we know that she will continue to “spark” progressive change for women and girls in Pittsburgh.
SWSG is honored to recognize Dr. Clautti along with other outstanding members of the Strong Women, Strong Girls community at the Strong Awards on April 30, 2012. SWSG wants to thank the sponsors who are making this event possible:
