“Exercise is for everyone,” says Amy Parker, SWSG Pittsburgh Executive Director, in her recent appearance on IMPACT, a program of WPXI in Pittsburgh. Thanks to a two-year grant from the Highmark Foundation, SWSG Pittsburgh is able to truly make exercise for everyone.
Amy appeared on IMPACT along with Flloyd Cephas, Executive Director of North Side Christian Health Center, which also received a two-year grant from Highmark. With this grant, North Side was able to open a clinic full time that has now served 1,400 patients. Christina Wilds, Senior Program Officer at Highmark, was also on the show to discuss Highmark’s commitment to improving health throughout Pittsburgh.
This two-year grant will have a tremendous impact for Strong Women, Strong Girls and the girls we serve. SWSG will be able to significantly expand Get Active! programming, including bringing trainers to work directly with SWSG girls, teaching them free, fun exercises that they can practice outside of SWSG. Thank you, Highmark!
