Continuing with our weekly highlight of the honorees of this year’s Strong Awards in Pittsburgh, we congratulate Brettney Duck from the Young Professional category!
Brettney DBio Pic 2uck is the Founder and Executive Director of G.O. Girls, a nonprofit organization that addresses the critical need for supportive services for young women transitioning from foster care to adulthood. In addition, Ms. Duck currently serves as the housing specialist with Neighborworks of Western Pennsylvania where she provides one on one credit and budget counseling to clients.
Ms. Duck has always been passionate about empowering young women as community leaders and buibuilding positive relationships between women of differing backgrounds and generations. Much of her selfless work has stemmed from losing her father to a terrible car accident at a young age. She is a true role model to young women demonstrating they can achieve incredible goals. Ms. Duck is also dedicated to Strong Women Strong Girls as a Strong Leader.
Currently, Ms. Duck serves on Adagio Health’s Young Leadership Council and Neighborhood Allies Grassroots Grantmaking. In 2017, she was nominated as Volunteer of the Year by Eat N Park Hospitality Group for her continued service to the community.
Ms. Duck earned her bachelor’s in Sociology from Edinboro University
