Strong Women, Strong Girls is proud to announce that we have won the Communications Award at the 2011 Nonprofit Excellence Awards. A total of thirteen non-profits were nominated in this category. Strong Women, Strong Girls was recognized for embracing new media to increase fundraising, public awareness and programs. Notably, SWSG was recognized for the Strong Blogging Corps, which educates the public about issues facing women and girls.
The Nonprofit Excellence Awards Ceremony took place on Monday, June 13th at the Massachusetts State House during the third Annual MNN Nonprofit Awareness Day. The event included a tribute to David Magnani and speeches by Paul Epstein, Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray, Treasurer Steve Grossman and Senate President Therese Murray. Senator Jennifer Flanagan and Representative Liz Malia were recognized as the Legislators of the Year. The event was hosted by David Shapiro, President of Mass Mentoring Partnership.
